Ninjas Hate Grifball, December 16, 2008

So last weekend was Grifball Double EXP weekend in Halo 3. For those of you who don’t know what Grifball is, it’s a “sport” somewhat like football (except with hammers and energy swords) that was created by the guys responsible for the Red vs. Blue series and adopted by the Halo community at large. I actually play in a league hosted by Rooster Teeth on a team called Judo Hippos.

The story behind this comic goes something like this. We have the ball (bomb) and we’re making a push towards the goal. Archer06, who happens to be the team captain is right behind me as I’m clearing the way with the hammer. We get up to the goal and I stop so that I can hammer the other team as they re-spawn next to the goal. Suddenly something hits me (In-game) over the back of the head and I die. Confused as to what happened, I check the report on the side of the screen and it read “Archer06 betrayed BlueKnightOne”. I guess When I stopped to spawn camp I managed to stand right in his way. Since things get a little crowded around the goal he hit me with the ball so that he could plant it and score.

Which was awesome. If every play ended with me being hit by my own teammates for the score, that would be a good game.
