Ninjas Hate Cardboard Boxes

So, I’m a big fan of the Metal Gear Series. Yes, you read that right, not “Metal Gear Solid Series” because those are just the most recent games. I’m talking about the entire series stretching back to Metal Gear on the NES and Metal Gear 2: Snake’s Revenge on the MSX. (Yes, I’m old enough to remember those.) They’re awesome games that are usually way ahead of their time. Only with the power of the PS3 do I think the story-telling finally has the graphical chops to back it up.

So, there’s the joke. An old joke, but a staple when you talk about the series nonetheless.

I’ve tried something new with this week’s comic.  Instead of drawing it out with pencil and paper, I’ve done the whole thing digitally. Which is not a fun process when you don’t have a graphics tablet. Mice suck for this much work, but the lines do come out a whole lot cleaner.

So, how are you guys enjoying the comic so far? Why do I ask? because this officially marks the two-month milestone since NHBG began. I’ve surprised even myself with the way I’ve been able to stick with it and update it regularly (usually). I think it might be time to start taking this a bit more seriously than I have.  So, this is where I’m going to be bringing you guys in.

Please, help me spread the word about the comic. I’m doing my part, I promise. This will soon be listed on The Webcomic List, Top Web Comics, and Buzz Comix. When those go up, I’d appreciate it if you would vote for each, and I’ll try to have some awesome incentives if you do. Also, tell people about the comic, get new readers hooked.

What’s the goal with all this? I WANT YOU TO HELP ME QUIT MY JOB.

I work in sales. I’ve been in sales for the past five years. I’m very, very good at sales, but I hate doing it. The only saving grace for the job I work at now is my employers are two of my closest friends and are very awesome people to work for. So, here are my goals:

  1. Find ways of bringing in enough revenue to make the comic self-sufficient (Ads/donations/store sales to pay for hosting.)
  2. Find ways of bringing in enough revenue to support the comic and going to at least one convention/year (Starting with the San Diego Comic Con)
  3. Find ways of bringing in enough revenue to support the comic, go to at least one convention/year, pay my bills so I can quit my job and do the comic full-time.

Please, please, please, you can help me to meet these goals. I’m putting myself at your mercy.

Thank you, really. Ninjas Hate Bad Grammar is nothing without you guys.

-Justin

Those are some pretty lofty goals…but there are awesome goals. I did help you start promoting the site on Divine Wrath so next step will be to get people from my office to look at it and have friends from home look at it…

Ahh, it is good to have goals. And I will do what I can to help out. I once had that dream as well. That was why I started Aeongelion Comics. I had intended to use that site to host my comic as well as other friends comics. But sadly the army took up alot of my time.
But good luck to you, and if you ever want a guest artist, or collabumoration or something please let me know.

Keep up the good work. Like rev and Archer stated with the goals. Thats your first step towards success, majority of people just go with nothing set as stepping stones. Only the best man.
