I mean, literally half the main characters are female, and they're all really the strong, get-stuff-done kinds of girls. I think that if you don't like their portrayal, that it's because it hits a little too close to home. In fact, I didn't understand much of the interplay between the male and female characters until I got married, and then it all made sense. So, yeah, guys are the same way in the books too. If you don't like the portrayal, maybe it's because it hits a little too close to home. Not that *I'm* anything like that... I think I see a slice of pizza in Proto-ninja's head. As for Cloverfield, only saw a bootleg copy of it that I umm... happened to see not of my own downloading or anything, so the fact that the quality was poor may have detracted from the whole bad, Blair Witch knock off cinematography.
