Ninjas Hate Windows
And in before the buzzer! Well mostly.
Over the weekend I had helped a friend of mine do some work on the recently remodeled house he and his wife were moving into, which included putting in new window sills (sils? seals?). The first attempt did not go… smoothly. The old addage to “measure twice, cut once” doesn’t really apply when you don’t read the notes on your measurements correctly.
Yeah, this weeks comic is not what I would like to call “finished” but I wanted to get something up before the weekend. But it’s at least a chance to see how I go about drawing the comic. This is what it looks like when I finish the pencils on the comic. As you can see, everything’s extremely rough and sketchy.
Once the pencils are done, I go back and ink over the lines I’m going to keep with an ultra fine-tip sharpie, and erase all the pencils. Finally, I scan the page at 200 dpi, clean up any smudges and lines that shouldn’t be there, and finally add borders and letter the page in GIMP. I keep two files, the original, full-resoltion file in GIMP’s native format and a lower-resolution file to post online.
Things look like they might finally be slowing down, so over the weekend I’m going to finish up this comic and have a new one for you Monday.
Uploaded new!

Sometimes, other people hate windows too. Wait, maybe I misunderstood. Do ninjas hate windows? Or do ninjas hate Windows? I would think that ninjas would like the former, as these can at times provide convenient ninja access to upper stories of buildings, which seems like something that most ninjas could use. On the other hand, the latter can be a nuisance to anyone, ninjas in particular(?).

In that case, I don’t get it.

@gamefry: Woops. *Updates comic post.*
I like the fact that the news post for the comic ties in directly to the comic itself, I think it’s very Penny Arcade of me to do so, but it usually helps if you finish out your posts.
