I work in a cellular store, so this comic hold’s a special place in my heart. Or ire. Take your pick.

I won’t go the route some have and say text messages are “the devil’s work” and should be done away with as “a useless annoyance.” But I will say they’ve gotten a bit out of control. Text messaging is useful in a situation where a text would actually be quicker than calling a person. An info blurb, if you will. Carrying out protracted conversations via text? That’s something I feel is better left to the internet. Not something that’s really necessary for phones.

Especially when the person you’re talking to is within normal converstation distance. I’ve seen this happen. People carrying on a text conversation with the person standing right next to them. Really, world? Really? You can’t be bother to talk to anyone anymore, you have to spend the time to type out your thoughts on a keyboard and wait for the person next to you to receive it than take half the time and express yourself directly?

Fail. Epic, monstrous, gargantuan fail.
